It has always been a dream of ours to run an organic fruit orchard, focusing on apples and pears. Whenever you venture into something like this, there is just no way to get past the bottom line. If it can’t pay for itself, you definitely can’t keep plugging along. That’s just basic economics. However, we still want to look into alternatives. We are currently really excited about the possibility of photovoltaics PV. There will definitely be an up front cost for this system, but it will be paid back quite quickly and will actually save us a significant amount of money over time. Not to mention how much lower impact our operation will be.

For Youth Group Fundraisers, it appears that cookies in our area are what sells. It could be because the Girl Scouts have been around forever. I even sold girl scout cookies when there were 50 cents a box. What I like this year is that instead of the cookies you can send the money and the cookies will be sent to the troops. This is a really nice option because I always buy from the grandchildren but they live far away and it is easier to send money rather then have them have to ship the cookies. It is a really great option.

Small refrigerators are an indulgence of mine. I have one in my pantry for wines and another one in the master bedroom. As you may have guessed, I am a bit of a wine connoisseur, and I’m fortunate to have friends who support my love for wines.
My wine refrigerator has separate compartments for chilling different kinds of wines, as well as space for simply storing them. This is also where I keep leftover wine, which can be drunk at a later time or used in cooking. I learned that keeping wines in a separate refrigerator helps maintain their quality and ensures that they are at the right temperature for serving.
As for the one in the master bedroom, what can I say? It’s really for snacking as my husband and I settle in for the evening. After a long day, there’s nothing like a good program on TV and a snack on hand.

Usually, we start our plants inside and then harden them and start planting in April or May. It sort of depends on the year. We used to put the seeds for the tomatoes , cucumbers and peppers in grow cubes and then soak them with water and cover them with plastic wrap. Then we would put them on a table where we had the best light. The only problem was the weather wasn’t always consistent and it would get colder than I would have liked. So we started looking at Indoor Grow Lights and set everything up in a spare bed room. The lights were pretty cheap. There germination rate is much better now.
