Average Electrician Salary for Apprentices

January 23rd, 2012

Before you begin earning as a professional, you should complete all requirements as set by local and state regulations. More often than not, this means completing practical and theoretical coursework. Of course, it is possible to undergo on-the-job training.

Enrolling in an apprenticeship program is your best bet at getting paid during training. These programs are offered by contracting companies as well as electrician unions. The Average Electrician Salary for apprentices could go as high as $18 per hour.

The bottom line is that apprentices do not earn as much as professionals. However, it is good money considering this is 80 percent of a journeyman’s salary. At this stage, the important thing is to gain enough experience to qualify for professional work.
