When consumers go out to their local seafood stand or supermarket, they rarely take the time to check where the food they are about to buy comes from, and whether it has been caught as part of a broader sustainable fisheries initiative aimed at controlling industry practices and promoting the health of our planet’s marine ecosystems. A lot of people out there may wonder, “what is sustainable seafood?,” and it is with them in mind that this article is written.
