Internet Marketing Niche – What Does it Mean?

August 31st, 2010

A niche in the marketing world at large is a focused market reduced from a larger market and targeted to a specific audience.  Okay, so that’s a pretty ambiguous definition, but here’s an example of an internet marketing niche to help you better understand it.  Let’s use sports.  Sports is a huge market and many niches are saturated.  If you start breaking it down from sports you get golf, football, basketball, baseball, tennis and other sports.  Now you break it down further to get something like golf techniques or baseball cards.  Keep in mind that those two niches are pretty saturated already, so you will want to find a market that is less saturated and find a niche to market from there.
