Chinese Lanterns are not Distress Signals

Ever question what happened to the grand animated cartoon series we used to have as children back in the 1980s? You know the ones, My Little Pony, Care Bears, He-Man and She-Ra and the likes? They were a thousand times greater than the stuff and nonsense on idiot box now. I flipped over from the news show where I was watching a story about a chinese lantern that drifted out over the ocean and the coast safeguards had it confused with a distress signal, to find a very distressing children’s program indeed. It was almost like a children’s soap opera and these youngsters were only more or less 12 years old!
